DFMI RECOGNISES THE WOMEN MINISTRY WHICH IS WORLDWIDE KNOWN AS “DORCAS MINISTRY” HEREIN LEICESTER WE AIM TO RAISE WOMEN FULL OF THE SPIRIT, WHO ARE ABLE TO LET THE WORD OF God BECOME AS PART OF THEIR LIVES. THEY WILL BE WOMEN THAT WALK IN INTEGRITY OUTLINING THE LOVE OF God IN THEIR LIVES. WE ENDEAVOUR TO HAVE WOMEN THAT ARE MORE LESS LIKE DEBORAH, SHE IS OUR MODEL THAT WE ARE FOLLOWING AS WE LOOK AT HER LIFE IN JUDGES 4: 4-9.

“And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time. And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Beth–el in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment. And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedesh–naphtali, and said unto him, Hath not the Lord God of Israel commanded, saying, Go and draw toward mount Tabor, and take with thee ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun?

And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go. And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the Lord shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.”

Lessons from Deborah

As a Prophetess – to clearly hear God’s voice
As a Teacher – we as women must be examples in families, community, and in the church
As a Judge – to be able to pass sound judgement with wisdom
As a Wife be a true helper who portrays respect and brings honour to the family

Our aim here at DFM Leicester is that every woman will study the word of God, be prayerful, can prophecy, praise is their lifestyle, and worship is not compromised.
