Vision Statement
Disciples Fellowship Ministries International is “An international local church based multifaceted Christian Ministries with a Passion Transforming Followers into Disciples of Christ .” LOCAL CHURCH BASED The role of a local church based ministry cannot be overemphasized, and the evidence is replete in scripture. It’s our firm conviction that the expression of our Christian faith and community is best fulfilled in a visible local church setting that adheres to the invisible universal Church principle commissioned in the pronouncement by Jesus Christ, when he said,“…I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.” (Matt. 16:18) The local church environment is best suited for mutual accountability of all those involved in the proclamation of the Gospel.
It’s in this local church setting that ministries and ministers are nurtured and commissioned by the affirmation of fellow-believers, who are attuned to the preferences of the Holy Spirit. It was in the local church at Antioch that their fellow Christians affirmed the apostle Paul and his colleagues, as the Holy Spirit separated them to special service in the kingdom of God. After Paul and Barnabas completed their ministry journey away from their local church, they returned to Antioch, were they were accountable to the rest of the disciples, and reported on their successful mission.“While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, ‘Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them. So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.” (Acts 13:2-3) “From Attalia they sailed back to Antioch, where they had been committed to the grace of God for the work they had now completed. On arriving there, they gathered the church together and reported all that God had done through them and how he had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles. And they stayed there a long time with the disciples.” (Acts 14:26-28)
MULTIFACETED CHRISTIAN MINISTRY
Therefore, as it seems right to us, and we are persuaded that even in the sight of God, we choose to establish the core of our ministry around the New Testament model of local church nurtured and commissioned evangelistic ministry. In obedience and honor to the specific parameters, divinely revealed and humbly embraced, we shall commit to the training member in the scriptures, under the direct supervision of Disciples Fellowship Ministries International (DFMI )/ CIM in every continent on the world as our international headquarters. We shall resist, as resiliently as possible, any attempt by external or internal forces or any temptation to denominational or traditional tendencies , in violation of this divinely ordained vision. The ministry outside any one of our individual DFMI / impact based local churches, whether it’s within the DFMI itself or another city worldwide , shall be in cooperation and support of the broader reach of the church of Jesus Christ. We will seek to unite our efforts with other church organizations and ministries of like-faith in reaching the rest of the cities worldwide.
